Nursery

"The Little Griffin Nursery is such a nurturing and supportive environment....my child has flourished."

The Little Griffin Nursery is a school-led Nursery - this means that it is term-time only provision, as it is part of The Griffin Primary School.

Mr Pouton, our excellent, qualified teacher leading Nursery, is supported by a fantastic team of Early Years Educators. We accept a limited number of 2 year olds, with the majority of our places being for 3 year old children. Admissions are for the term after children have their 2nd or 3rd birthdays.

We adhere to the government adult:child ratios for 3 year old, but are committed to having an increased ratio for 2 year olds - rather than 1:5, as specified by the government, we have a ratio of 1:4.

The purpose-built Nursery accomodation is within the school grounds, enabling the team to use any of the school's facilities to support the learning and development of the children.

Our Early Years Lead, Miss Byrne, is our Reception Teacher. She liaises with, and works alongside, Mr Pouton to ensure that our provision is of the highest quality and that we capitalise on opportunities to share experiences and resources for the benefit of our children.

From 3 years old, children are welcome to stay for the lunch session - this is parent-funded. There are different prices depending on whether children bring their own lunch or have a home-cooked school meal.

Admissions are controlled by the school - please visit the admissions page for further information.
