Nursery
The Little Griffin Nursery opened in September 2023.
This is a term-time only, school-led provision with a qualified teacher leading a team of Early Years Educators. They work closely with the Griffin Primary School’s Early Years Lead, who is also the Reception Class Teacher, educating from the same Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
The curriculum is delivered through a range of creative, practical, imaginative, mathematical, physical and social learning experiences, as well as encouraging the children’s early writing, letter recognition and reading. These learning experiences are accessible to the children, both indoors and out. Please take a look at our Curriculum Overviews below.
We offer children a warm, welcoming and secure environment with a routine appropriate to their age and to which they can relate. We are situated within the grounds of The Griffin Primary School which allows us to access all school facilities and equipment, such as IT, the hall for PE, the nature area, the multi-use games area and the field.
The Little Griffin Nursery provides for a maximum of 32 children per session and welcomes 3-4 year old children and up to eight, 2 year olds per session. We offer government funded sessions from the term after a child turns 2 or 3. If parents wish their child to start once their child has turned 2 or 3, but before the funding is provided, sessions would be parent-funded. *
